We try to limit the "rules" that Nathan has to follow, but it seems like he only wants to touch the things that he's not allowed to touch or do the things he's not supposed to do. He can't touch the trashcan, outlets (obviously), the shelf in the kitchen with the gadgets on it, and a few other things. Some days, it felt like he would go from one thing he wasn't supposed to touch to the next, all in a big circle, all day long, with me saying "no" every two seconds (which, by the way, is incredibly tiring).
He's getting better, though. This morning, when he went to drop a Cheerio off of his highchair, he moved his hand back lightening fast when Gus turned around and saw him. Then, several times today, I turned around and caught him touching something he knows he's not supposed to touch (one time it was the trashcan), and as soon as I said his name in a stern voice, he ran away from whatever it was that he was touching as fast as he possibly could.
It was adorable. And also really nice to see some fruits of our labor.
